Religious Jewellery to Express The Perfect Faith

There is a great trend and tradition to wear Religious jewellery in many religions. It is also steeped in various faiths. In early age, religious jewellery was adorned by Christians. In Christian community many Christians wear the religious jewellery in the form of holy cross which represents their deep faith in Jesus. This type of jewellery also symbolized as the perfect belief in Jesus.
In the Catholic community, Religious jewellery is also offered as a communion and baptism gift. Baptism is a Holy tradition in Christians which is must for each Christian to take a part or participate in early age in the baptism ceremony, in this holy ceremony, small bracelets and tiny rosaries are given to the infants upon their Baptism. Rosaries and necklaces are also chosen as gifts, presents or awards for catholic children on first Holy Communion. This type of jewellery is the sign and symbol of confirmation of successful baptism. Children also receive this jewellery in the form of saint medals. This type of jewellery is also called meaningful jewellery. In Roman Catholics, pre-teens select a Saint's name to take as their own in preparation for their ratification. It is common for them to search the books about Saints and ask their relatives about their own Confirmation or verification names. They can also demand their favorite Saints name on the holy medals. So their relatives bring the Saints medals for them in various holy styles. However pre-teens wear these medals to signify love for their Patron saints. Some of the most popular and famous Patron Saints are St. Jude, St. Matthew, St. Philomena, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Agnes. Christian jewellery, such as silver or gold crucifixes, rosaries and Holy Spirit pins are also offered in various ceremonies but saint medals specifically given to the boy or girl which mean the girl or boy being Confirmed.
In many other religions, religious jewellery is the part of holy tradition. In Hinduism, “Mangal sutra” is the holy sign of a married woman. This jewellery is must to wear after marriage to show whether the girl is married or not. “Mangal sutra” is actually a locket made of pure gold. There is always a valuable rope with the locket in place of gold chain according to the tradition. The rope has two ends with locks. Some times rope is made up with different eye-catching valuable threads or fibers with different color combination but usually available in golden and black combination. “Sutra” means rope. Many Hindus wear locket of gold with “Ganesh” sign. This jewellery is the symbol of their love for “Ganesh” (Hindu’s God in the form of holy elephant according to their religious values).
Religious jewellery is not only an adornment or the typical trendy jewellery but it also expresses our inner and perfect faith. When it is offered as a gift, it is the symbol of recognition of the spirituality of the recipient. Wearing this jewellery is the symbol which reminds complete faith in God and acknowledgment of humble origins.
