Silver Was Widely Used To Make Ancient Jewellery In Ancient Times

From ancient times silver is considered as a precious metal when the people of ancient Egypt started using metals for making ancient jewellery which was unique and good for decoration of ceremonial occasions. The Egyptians were doing the business of silver. They did trading of silver. They gain this silver for their protection nearly in 5000 BC and the tombs were discovered in 2900 BC.

Since ancient times the natural color and executable properties of silver has made it so widen that it begins to use in the whole world for jewellery making. In terms of value, its curiosity has made it second after the gold. Now a days we even come to know about those metals which are more valuable than gold. Its properties allow it to work greatly with different precious and semiprecious gemstones. This also can easily used with glass. Silver was immensely used by the people of Rome and Greece culture to avoid the evils of dark. In other cultures like Egyptian culture this was use to wear for personal dressings and for ceremonial occasions as well. It was conspicuously used in the burials because the tombs that are discovered have large preservations of sliver and gold.

In ancient times silver ancient jewellery was used in different ways. The most common way was hammering the silver metal in to accurate form, or the wandering and gushing of silver for crafting jewellery. This kind of techniques made the jewellery primitive when it is compared with today’s jewellery standards. The other methods like filigree techniques were also used for the crafting the jewellery.

This technique was practiced at numerous common places of Middle East and Europe but was not practiced in Egypt.

Silver slowly started being a famous metal for crafting jewellery and even now a day is used to craft different items of jewellery. Silver is mined in the whole world in a very large quantity because the history witnessed that wherever a new vena of the metal is found, silver was present their in huge quantity

In present the jewellery made with silver has become so common that it is sold cheaply and need not to lock in the safe. The ancient jewellery made with silver is considered as an extreme substitute for gold which can easily work with diamonds too.
